Details About The Apartment: This a top floor apartment with stairs. Part of a two level 4plex. The apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms plus two living/dining room spaces. The only shared space with me is the kitchen. No laundry in unit, but there is a laundry mat behind the building that’s only a 2 min walk. (Rinse laundry delivery picks up here too) There is private parking at the back of the house that is hidden from the street.
Location: Berkeley right near the North Oakland/Rockridge border. Safe & friendly neighborhood. Close to Ashby Bart (7 min walk) and major bus lines. Many public parks within walking distance. Walking distance to supermarkets like Berkeley Bowl & Whole Foods. Safeway & Trader Joe’s are a lil further but still walkable. Close corner stores, restaurants and cafes. Also close: yoga studios, community centers/activities. Weekly farmers market around corner (5 min walk). 1.5 miles to UC Berkeley: an easy walk or hop on BART (1 stop) or bus. Easy commute to San Francisco via BART (25ish mins). Walkable to Rockridge. Piedmont is a 15 min bus ride. Lake Merritt (Grand Theater side near all shops) is a 20 min bus ride. Walk score of: 95.
Looking For: Quiet and considerate housemate that keeps spaces tidy. Communicates compassionately and maturely. Likes a chill atmosphere. Is ok that meat is cooked in the shared kitchen. Keeps shared kitchen clean after cooking or food prep. Non smoker. No pets. No couples. Great rental/payment history.
Current Housemate : I’m a woman in her late 30s working in non-profit sector remotely. Independent, quiet, introverted. Spiritually minded and a meditator. Lover of: plants, cacti, fungi and learning herbalism. I care deeply about human rights issues and injustices. I have an emotionally demanding job so afterwork I tend to keep it low key and relax. We will vibe well if you also see your living space as a sanctuary and a place to recharge.
Process: In person showing and compatibility chat with me. If all goes well, will have you fill out a rental application and will do a background and financial check.
Move-In Details & Costs: Move in date: Sept 1st.
Move in cost: 1st month rent + deposit.
Rent: $1390 (without shared utilities) paid via Venmo.
