Quiet, garden setting, set far back from the street, Central Berkeley, (walk score 83), 25 minute walk and 15 min bike ride to campus.
The room has a lot of natural light, upstairs with a huge skylight that can open and close. It is furnished with a double bed, dresser, desk, night table, Window has view of redwoods in garden. The house stands high up and so the room feels airy.
Common rooms are spacious, welcome to use, lots natural light, piano in living room. Dining room table sits 6-8. The Kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, large stove, blender, cusine art, toaster, rice cooker, microwave.
Once a month professional house cleaning is great ! and included as well as with utilities, wifi, electrical/water/heat. Use of washer and dryer on ground level basement floor. Also can just wheel bicycles inside for dry and safe storage.
Garden has wifi connection, a BBQ, benches and table and chairs. great that in California we can enjoy the outdoors almost all year round. Three or four times a year, as a household there is a Garden Work Party, all participate! ( lunch is served!) for help in the garden unless you like gardening more, like I do... :)
Centrally located 10 -15 min walk to downtown, BART, Trader Joe’s or 10 minutes walk to the Hidden Cafe 10 min bike ride 25 min walk to either of the Berkeley Bowls, or Monterey Market, or the Cheeseboard
We sometimes share meals, like conversations, but are pretty busy. Nice rhythm of solo and shared time in the house. The chores are shared equitably and are part and parcel of living together. We are a shared household.
Sharing with grad students and me, a busy retired landscape designer who owns and lives as a fellow housemate . Am happy to set up an initial zoom house tour or in person if in the area.
