Our mission is To End the Age of Waste. We recover about 8,000 tons of material a year and recirculate these resources back into the local economy and community mostly by selling them via retail. We have a three-acre reuse and recycling Ecopark that is open to the public for shopping 360 days a year.
We’re looking for summer help in our retail areas. The General Store Department takes up most of our 30,000-square-foot warehouse. The General Store sells furniture, housewares, artists’ materials, books, hardware, lighting, old electronics, sporting goods, clothes, collectibles, jewelry, and novelty items. The Building Materials Department is partly inside, mostly outside. It sells doors, windows, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, garden equipment, tiles, marble and granite sheets, metal sheets, fencing, lumber, and pipes. The Salvage and Recycling Department rescues materials from the landfill and brings them back to the store to sell or recycle!
No matter the department, the work at Urban ore involves physical labor such as unloading and loading vehicles, lifting and rearranging heavy inventory, and cleaning. Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely and continually all day as the flow of business demands. The job will involve customer service such as working at a POS and answering customers’ questions. Must enjoy helping people and must be self-directed while working cooperatively with teammates to help customers. The position is available for a 3-month term. Possibility of future re-hiring depending on performance. Must be able to work both weekend days.

Schedule:
This full-time position is five (5) days a week. Must work weekends.
