These are the real deal steel-link chains for max traction on snow and ice. V-bar/ lugged means the cross-links have v-bent lugs welded to 5 links each for the most aggressive bite. My dad would have bought these I don't know how many years ago or for what vehicle. They've not been used. They are not in the original box, so I don't what size tires they fit. They are several inches too short to fit my tire size of 215-65-16
Yes, it would be fairly easy to shorten them by removing links. They are otherwise not very adjustable. Tighteners are not included.
Laid out as shown in the picture, they measure about 70" long and about 11" wide; the 'adjusting' side goes to about 72" for the last link. The pair weigh about 16 1/4 lbs.
I also have another pair, which are straight-bar lugged steel chains about 50" long and about 11" wide which fit 13" tires and some 14". This pair has been used, though on what I don't know. Sizing is shown in the ad for them.
