Hi, I'm Frankie Pritchard, East Bay bunny rabbit groomer with 25 years experience trimming nails, cutting mats, and combing during shedding season. I do NOT shear Angoras or Woolies. Anal (scent) glands cleaned every 6 mos. Nails should be trimmed every two and a half to three months. Most bunnies do not like being picked up, but settled on your lap or next to you on a couch or floor, most love petting. I can assist in picking up your bunny.
I am an independent contractor. I do not work for a pet sitting organization. I volunteer as Sunday bunny and guinea pig groomer at RabbitEARS rescue in Oakland and am on the Board of Directors. The CEO can give a character reference. Client referrals given on request.
I AM SUPER ALLERGIC TO TIMOTHY HAY. If your bunny eats TIMOTHY, I can only groom them in a space away from hay after you wipe your bunny with a slightly damp washcloth before grooming.
For bonded pairs I wear disposable gloves. To minimize my scent on them you can wipe them down with a damp washcloth after each is groomed or hold them facing me while I trim nails. Bunnies are scent oriented and may not like a strange scent on each other.
I am fully vaccinated and boostered for COVID-19. You supply a clean towel, bunny brush or comb and indoor environment with a small table and chair or couch. You may watch grooming at a distance or leave the area. I strongly recommend getting your bunny vaccinated for RHDV2, the deadly rabbit virus arrived in the U.S. 7 years ago. Several exotics vets in the Bay Area have the U.S. vaccine.
I charge $20 for nail trims, which includes anal (scent) gland cleaning and basic brushing. Additional $10 for large mats or major shedding. I travel throughout the Bay area, $20 - $40 travel charge beyond East Bay (no travel charge for Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, Alameda, Emeryville). I am available by appointment Tuesday - Saturday, noon - 6:00 p.m.
