I'm Frankie, a long time bunny whisperer and groomer. With another volunteer I began the bunny rabbit adoption program at Oakland Animal Services 16 years ago, mentoring and volunteering there for 14. I adopted several bunnies over the years and improved my skills using tips I picked up from vets and rescue personnel. I currently volunteer at a bunny rescue trimming nails and socializing bunnies.
The first photo shows my small Havana bunny Cricket who lived 15 years. The last 2 are my current 3 y.o. English Spot Stevie Wonderbun, Mr. December on the 2017 OAS calendar and super demo. bunny.
I offer in home visits to trim your bunny's nails, cut and comb mats or excess shedding hair. (Exception, I do not shear Angoras). I also offer advice for problem bunnies who are shy and timid, or aggressive and bitey, the goal being a better interactive pet. Every bunny has its own distinctive personality and ways of behaving that you can learn about and appreciate.
I ask $15 for nail trims light combing and anal gland cleaning (bunnies cannot clean this area, small deposits build up giving off skunklike odors.) Mineral oil on a q tip removes this quickly & painlessly. $20 for a half hour behavior work, and $20 for removing large mats or matted areas. My technique of "zoning" your bunny puts it in a light trance and relaxes him or her while I trim nails. I travel mainly to East Bay, extra $20 for S.F. or further. References on request.
