About the Social Worker Role
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting and strengthening Resource Family homes and helping foster youth maintain safe, stable placements. This role is primarily focused on Resource Family support while also providing direct services to youth in collaboration with county partners.
You will work within a flexible, cross-program model, supporting:
• Foster Care / Resource Family homes
• Transitional Housing Program (THP) for Non-Minor Dependents
• Adoption & Guardianship Services (AGS)
• Emergency Placement and Receiving Center operations
This position supports families across multiple counties. Candidates residing in Solano, Napa, Yolo, Alameda, or Sacramento Counties are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
• Support, coach, and partner with Resource Families to promote safe, stable placements
• Coordinate care with County Social Workers, probation, and multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct home visits, assessments, and ongoing placement support
• Provide trauma-informed support to youth in home, school, and community settings
• Respond to crises and support stabilization efforts
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation
• Support placement activities, including referrals and matching youth with families
• Contribute across programs based on need, including THP, AGS, and Emergency Placement
What This Role Looks Like
This is a field-based, flexible role that includes:
• Work in homes, community settings, and office environments
• Local travel across Napa, Solano, Yolo, and Sacramento Counties (with occasional work in surrounding counties)
• Thoughtful assignment of homes and service areas based on your location whenever possible
• Assigned in-office days, with flexibility for field-based scheduling
• A schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
• A balance of independent work and team collaboration

What You Bring
• Master’s degree in Social Work or a related behavioral health field required
(Candidates actively enrolled in a qualifying master’s program may be considered)
• Experience working with youth and families, preferably in foster care, behavioral health, or social services
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Sound judgment and professionalism in high-stress or crisis situations
• Commitment to serving diverse communities with cultural humility
• Valid California Driver’s License and ability to travel locally
