Do you want to put some cred on. your resume? The El Cerrito Free Folk Festival (https://elcerritofreefolkfestival.org/) is looking for a special Event Coordinator for 2026. Many of us are getting older and it's hard moving all of those chairs around, let alone setting up various sound systems and coordinating schedules. We still have a robust, friendly, and talented group of volunteers, but we would love to include someone who is motivated to make our 2026 event better than ever! This could be a great feather in your cap for an upcoming young person who would like to enter the industry.
Here is a sample job description. Until next October (almost a year away) we will have monthly organizing meetings that include getting talent to play, supporting High School volunteers, and (the following are example duties, depending on your interests):
**Job Title:** Volunteer Event Coordinator – Small Music Festival (Electric Instruments)

**Overview:**
We are seeking a motivated and organized Event Coordinator to oversee the planning, execution, and management of a small music festival focused on electric instruments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for live music, experience in event organization, and excellent communication skills.
**Responsibilities:**
- Coordinate all aspects of the festival, including scheduling, artist bookings, and stage management.
- Liaise with performers, vendors, and facility staff to ensure smooth event operations.
- Develop and implement a detailed event plan, including setup, run-of-show, and teardown.
- Manage logistics such as technical requirements for electric instruments, sound systems, lighting, and staging.
- Promote the event through social media, local advertising, and community outreach.
- Coordinate volunteers and staff to assist with event setup, operations, and customer service.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and the event complies with local regulations.
- Oversee budget management, including procurement of equipment and supplies.
- Handle onsite problem-solving and coordinate any last-minute adjustments.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in live music or entertainment.
