Are you a female vocalist with a great ear for harmony? Do you love the Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris blend or the Neil Young/Nicolette Larson sound? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
We're an established, regularly gigging Bay Area Americana band looking for a long-term substitute harmony singer while our current vocalist tours nationally after being cast as Karen Carpenter in a stage production. The position runs from approximately mid-August through early December.
We already have multiple shows booked during that time, with additional dates likely to be added. We perform throughout Northern California—from Napa and Vacaville to San Francisco and points in between—so reliable transportation and a willingness to travel are essential.
Pay varies by gig, but every band member is guaranteed a minimum hourly rate regardless of the venue payout.
If you play an instrument, that's a plus, but it's not required. There may also be opportunities to sing lead on a couple of songs.
We perform in acoustic duo, trio, and quartet formats as well as a full five-piece band. Our repertoire blends original Americana with carefully chosen covers spanning classic country, folk, rock, and bluegrass.
An initial audition/rehearsal will take place in Berkeley, and regular rehearsals are held in West Oakland.
If you're dependable, have a good ear for harmony, and love making great music with good people, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send links to videos or recordings that showcase your singing—especially harmony vocals if possible. I'll send you links to our music and live performances, and if it looks like a good fit, we'll set up an audition and talk further.
