Selling a Teenage Engineering OP-Z, with the following extras:
- Official pouch case
- 3.5mm external input adapter dongle
- Oplab module (which gives 3.5mm connectors for MIDI in/out, CV+gate, and sync pulse input/output)
- Original boxes and printed material
- Original TE-branded USB-A to USB-C cable
- Original stand (packs into the internal space intended for an add-on module, so I removed it when installing the Oplab module; as ytou can see from the pics, it is stored in the Oplab module's box)
- Minijack-to-DIN MIDI adapter cable
- Custom transparent red laser-cut acrylic power/volume knob attachment (my own design; slips onto the original power/volume paddle, increasing the ergonomics—big improvement IMHO!)
The OP-Z functions well. All buttons work as expected, with no double triggers.
A common manufacturing issue that is present on many OP-Zs is the possibility that the enclosure may start to form a visible bend over time. This unit shows only *very slight* bending when viewed from front-side on; it is only faintly visible on the far right. I tried to show this as best I could in the pics, but it is very subtle to the point where it is hard to discern—I only mention it in the spirit of full disclosure. It does not impact the usability of the device in any way.
The only thing that doesn't function as normal is the pitch-bend button. Teenage Engineering sells a replacement part that will fix this issue, which costs <$20, and is an easy thing to replace, needing only partial disassembly. The pitch bend button is mostly useless, anyhow, as you can't record its input into the sequencer, so most users don't miss it. (Again, mentioning this in the spirit of full disclosure.)
To round this all up, many OP-Zs experienced manufacturing issues that impacted some units' long term usability/durability. In the case of this specific OP-Z, while it does show slight signs of a couple of the issues (slight case bend, and nonfunctional pitch bend button), it is otherwise solid, and has been gently used, and tested thoroughly before listing here on CL. If you are interested, you are more than welcome to test it when we meet.
