Fender Roscoe Beck artist model IV bass, circa 2003. This with the rare maple fretboard. This has become a sought after bass that’s been out of production for years. Includes a 22-fret neck, stock Hipshot tuners including a bass extender on the E string, a highly-regarded Gotoh bridge, two Ken Lawrence pickups that are switchable to three modes: single coil, parallel humbucking, serial humbucking. The single coil mode puts it firmly in the ‘60s Jazz Bass sound, and the humbucking modes are great, powerful variations. It can even get into the Music Man Stingray zone although electronics are passive here. There are some assorted marks and finish issues from years of being a great player. Neck feels wonderful. A very reasonable 8.88 lbs on my scale which is impressive given that it has a higher mass bridge, a de-tuner on the E-string and humbucking pickups. Includes a Fender tweed case. Also includes an unused parchment-color pick guard in case you prefer a different look. Open to trades, but very focused as to what I’m looking for.
