This is a rare 1988 Lowden L27Fc, handmade by George Lowden himself in the early days at the Downpatrick, Northern Ireland factory. (If you know, you know.) It's masterfully crafted and built like an absolute tank, yet still sounds airy and magical. It's cedar over rosewood, and it sounds great strummed, but where it really shines is fingerstyle—loud, open, woody and warm with a very vintage tone.
I've owned this guitar for over 10 years (bought it not only because it's amazing, but because it was once owned by Mary-Chapin Carpenter, a favorite singer-songwriter of mine. It's also the model Richard Thompson used for years and patterned his signature model after). I hate to let it go, but I've gotten more into electric lately and I have too many guitars. (I know, there's no such thing, but... limited space and funds!)
It's 37 years old, and it has the mojo (just normal playwear, no cracks or serious dings or scratches) you'd expect, but it's in excellent condition overall and plays really well. Was re-fretted at some point, and the frets are still in great shape with minimal wear.
Comes with factory original Hiscox case.
Sorry, not looking for any trades. (Well, not any guitar trades... one very specific thing I would consider trading for is a Hasselblad X2D in excellent condition.)
