slightly used and it’s in Excellent condition, if you see it, you’d think it was brand new. I’m selling it because I’ve commissioned a handmade acoustic that going to cost me around $18K and need to consolidate my guitars. This is one that I have to sacrifice and they’ll be a few more to sell later on. This is one if not one of the best sounding guitars around the $1200.00-$2000.00 price range. I think they sound better than the Taylor's and Martin’s. I actually sold my 1971 Martin D-35 which I loved but this Alvarez sounded better than the Martin. While many have been buying the Taylor’s I think they are very flat sounding and to me they don’t seen to have the character that I look for in a guitar. If you have a good ear you can hear the harmonics on the Alvarez when playing with a pick or striking it with your fingernails. Listen to it ring. And I always try to find those sounds in a guitar. This one has those harmonics.
A 12-fret neck joint naturally requires a larger soundboard, which in turn leads to a more powerful bass response and enhanced projection capabilities. Plus, the bridge is moved toward the middle of the guitar’s body, a position that many guitarists find to be the “sweet spot” of resonant tone and touch-sensitive dynamic control.
