The Fender American Standard Offset Telecaster was originally invented in Fender's highly regarded custom shop. Until now, owning one of that quality was a very expensive proposition. The American Standard version offers the same great performance, but it's offered at a much more accessible price point.
The electronics in the Offset Telecaster are firmly from the Telecaster camp. Onboard are a Fender Custom Shop Twisted Telecaster neck single-coil and a Vintage-style bridge single-coil. These old-school designs are what injects the Offset Telecaster with all of its punch and cut. The guitar's tone control is Fender's no-load design, which takes the pot completely out of the signal when rolled full up for a pure, straight-to-the-amp tone. And the guitar's alder body and maple neck are one of the most popular wood combinations for these types of instruments.
