This Teak Piccolo was purchased from a fellow drummer. There was heavy oxidation on screws internally so replaced all lug screws with stainless steel. The gold lugs themselves appear to be DW with some light pitting. The strainer was replaced with Puresound wires and the Powerstroke batter and Evans heads are near new. Teak is not lacquered but raw wood. I always use Howard Citrus-Shield premium paste wax to protect the woods on snares I've renovated.
Besides all the work done to this drum, the teak has a bright warm sound sure to please the most discriminating taste.
