This is a very uncommon model, a deep-body Epiphone Sorrento. Sorrentos are normally a thinline model and on this guitar’s label has “T” (for thinline). But this is a deep body guitar, the depth of a Gibson ES-175. I have seen one other deep-body Sorrento, and that one had only one pickup. Made by Gibson at Kalamazoo MI, in 1966. Beautiful finish. All the binding is strong and beautiful. Light checking to the original nitrocellulose finish, not apparent except up close. Seth Lover designed 1960s Mini humbuckers. Scuffs to headstock on the usual place where the headstock rests against a wall. The neck is the Gibson/Epiphone mid-60s shape. A dark rosewood fingerboard. I think there has been a refret — the frets are in the larger up-to-date style and are in great shape. It comes with a Martin hardshell case that fits it perfectly.
