There’s an issue with this tape deck I don’t know how to get rid of: during recording there’s this constant low frequency popping noise. I’ve tried demagnetizing it with the Nakamichi de-magnetizer. It sucks because this is one of the most beautiful tape decks I‘ve had, as it‘s 3-head so no tape drift, and it also has XLR inputs and outputs.

I’ve been told by a Nakamichi tech that the capacitors need to be replaced, but I’m not knowledgeable about it.

If you know how to fix it, you’ll have something very beautiful. Everything else works perfectly and cosmetically it looks new.
