I'm selling my 1974 Martin D-35, which I've owned for 30 years. I bought it originally in Kansas City and brought it to California. I don't play it much anymore, and it's time to let someone else enjoy this classic acoustic guitar. My inspiration for buying this guitar was David Gilmour. He used his 1969 D-35 to compose and record some of Pink Floyd’s most enduring songs.
The top is select Sitka spruce, and the back showcases the iconic East Indian rosewood three-piece back. This legendary Martin tonewood combination delivers robust bass response and powerful projection, making it perfect for stage and studio. Its bound ebony fretboard feels terrific and responds well to flat-picking or finger-style playing.
The pickguard is slightly warped, but that doesn't affect playability. There is one nick in the front and a couple of hairline cracks that are not deep. All of this is reflected in my very fair price.
