The KRK V8 monitors have a unique design with matte-grey cabinets, rounded corners, and yellow Kevlar drivers. They feature an 8-inch bass/mid driver and a 1-inch soft-dome tweeter, powered by separate amplifiers (130W for the bass/mid, 70W for the tweeter). The cabinets are made from heavy MDF and are magnetically shielded, making them suitable for AV or computer use. They include a protection system with a reset button and a sub-bass filter to prevent distortion at low frequencies (down to 31Hz).
Connections are via a Neutrik balanced combo connector that can accept either an XLR or a balanced/unbalanced jack, and there’s a gain trim to adjust input sensitivity. To adjust the sound for room acoustics. The bass roll‑off can be set to 45Hz, 50Hz or 65Hz; the HF can be set to +/‑1dB, as well as flat. The overall frequency response is quoted as 47Hz to 23kHz, +/‑2dB.
