make / manufacturer: Yamaha
model name / number: FG-180
This is a beautiful Yamaha FG-180 Nippon Gakki red label guitar, made in Japan in 1969. This model is known as a "Martin killer" for good reason, the tone and projection are simply exceptional.

This early model is in great playing shape, and quite good cosmetically, save for some dings picked up along it's 56 year life. The action is an ideal 2.6 mm on the low E string at the 12th fret, with a nice straight neck and room on the truss rod for further adjustment. The saddle is low, but a higher saddle could be fitted and the truss rod adjusted to maintain optimal playability.

This guitar comes with the well regarded vintage DeArmond 260 pickup installed and in good working order. These are out of production and sell for $150-200 on their own.

Reasonable offers considered for this exceptional and highly sought after instrument. I have a fitting hardened gig bag available for another $60.
