Price is $1350 firm. (I paid $1550, in November 2023.)
This guitar needs to move on. I have a Martin D-18 and two other Taylors that I play much more. Posted it on Craigslist 2 years ago at close to the price I paid; now reposting it at a pretty darn low price. Needs to go to someone who will play it more!
This guitar has been played a lot in the past, as indicated by some fret wear (in the usual spots: 2nd and 3rd frets of B string mostly, and a little under the high E string), and by a little discoloration at the bottom of the pick guard from strumming. Also some shininess on the top, perhaps.
Otherwise, it seems to be in darn near perfect condition. No cracks, almost no belly bulge. I've always had .12s on it. (Currently has d'addario elixir phosphor bronze 12s, the ones that came on it when i bought it, that still sound quite new.)
Taylors sometimes need a neck reset after some years – I've done this to both of my other Taylors myself (I have the shim sets); this one doesn't need it. A straightedge along the (unstrung) neck will point just at the top of the bridge or a bit lower, as specified by Taylor.
I've set it up within spec, but at the high side as regards neck relief and string action (height). Note that the cover for the truss rod adjusting nut isn't on it now, as seen in the pictures, but I have it.
Purchased November 2023 from a younger guy from Pennsylvania, the original owner; he kept it in the case with a humidifier at all times.
The usual high quality Taylor hard case is a bit banged up, looks like it got a lot of use. The little hold-open strap is broken, and it looks like this has led to some damage to the hinges. Reckon I could give you my otherwise identical 214ce case instead of this one, it's in great condition. (I use gig bags, myself.)
