This drum is a Slingerland Drum Co. made 4 legged Floor tom. It's from probably late 40s early 50s. I bought this when I purchased another drum set way back in 1980. It didn't fit that drum set as it was a Pearl drum set, so I kept it after selling my Pearl drums.
Anyway, it is an 18" diameter X 18" deep. It has no bottom resonator head but the holes are there for it. I looked and I don;t have those old lugs and I don't think I ever did have them. I do know that they are available on the net.
It has a huge sound and can be converted to a "jazz" bass drum if desired. or a surdo drum. It has a thin shell likely 3 ply birch wood looks like to me. So it is very resonant and boom !! Ka-boom maybe.
They made 4 legged floor toms like this so that they had more stability and would not "walk " around after being played. or uneven stages or to have a precise angle for the player. That fad was over after some short years. That makes this a rare drum. I am selling it for $150
