This is a beautiful very fine cello handcrafted by myself Peter Van Arsdale. Comes with a hard case and a fine bow. The workmanship is extraordinary and the tone is exceptional. Lots of depth and color and very even across all strings. A real joy to play. The wood is maple back and sides and spruce for the top. The wood was recovered from the bottom of Lake Superior where it lay dreaming of becoming an instrument for hundreds of years. These virgin trees were over three hundred years old when originally cut and rafted to mills on Lake Superior. Some of the best wood sunk on their journeys and I am fortunate to use it to make superior instruments. I have violins, violas and cellos made from this incredible wood.
I am a violin maker and restorer in Berkeley California. Violins and violin family are my passion and I love my work. I work out of my home by appointment so my overhead is low and I pass this on to my clients. Please look at my other listings and come and see me. I will help you find the instrument of your dreams at a very affordable price. My instruments have been endorsed and played by Itzhak Perlman, Alexander Barantschik (SF symphony concert master) and John Sherba (Kronos Quartet).
