Tires with 350 miles on it, taken from BMW R1250GS
The Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A41 is a tire designed for adventure motorcycles, with a focus on on-road performance and a surprising amount of grip for light off-road use. It offers good handling, stability, and wet weather grip, making it a popular choice for riders who spend most of their time on paved roads but still want the option to tackle gravel or dirt roads.
Key features and performance highlights:
On-road performance:
The A41 excels on pavement, offering excellent grip, stability, and feedback, especially during cornering and braking.
Wet weather performance:
It provides good grip in wet conditions, with enhanced water evacuation due to the increased sea/land ratio at the shoulders.
Off-road capabilities:
While not a true knobby tire, the A41 performs surprisingly well on gravel and packed dirt surfaces, offering good braking grip and feel.
Dual compound construction:
The tires utilize a dual compound design, with softer shoulders for grip and a harder center compound for mileage and stability.
Rider confidence:
The A41 is designed to enhance rider confidence, with a focus on stable handling and predictable behavior in various conditions.
The Battlax Adventure A41 Tires from Bridgestone were designed with the current crop of high-displacement, high-horsepower ADV bikes in mind. A huge emphasis was put on improving rider confidence and wet weather handling. The sea/land ratio at the shoulders of both the front and rear hoops has been increased to facilitate faster water evacuation and a larger tread block has been used at the center in the rear to increase tire life and high speed stability. Both tires are of the dual compound variety, meaning you get extra grip where you need it and extra mileage where you don't.
Features:
Improved grip in ALL conditions, when compared to the A40, with no reduction in tire life
Greatly improved wet weather performance
Mono-spiral belt constuction (MSB) together with a revised case construction provides improved contact feel and high speed stability
Increased sea to land ratio at the shoulders provides better water evacuation at lean
Rear tire groove angles optimized for water evacuation
3LC (dual compound) front tire
3LC Cap and Base rear tire construction (cap tread uses a soft silica compound with a medium silica compound base resulting in improved shock absorption and more grip without sacrificing rigidity)
Rear tire features larger block tread at the center to improve tire life and high speed stability, especially on fully loaded ADV bikes.
