JOB SUMMARY: Concreteworks is seeking an individual with a background in architectural design willing to work in a high intensity environment supporting 3D & 2D design efforts for long term projects and evaluation of future projects. The individual will be expected to react in a nimble way to evolving schedules & project demands. Projects are generally at an architectural scale both domestic & international.
DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION: The Designer/ Assistant Project Manager (D/APM) will work with a team of 5-6 people supporting the coordination of design-development & design-documentation of large scale 3D objects and architectural systems made of GFRC. The D/APM will also assist Sr.Project Managers in coordinating internal and external resources & contacts for execution of large scale projects as well as owning overall project management of smaller scale projects. The individual must possess strong communication skills; be self-directed with responsibilities & willing to evolve their level of responsibility & tool set.
LIST OF DUTIES: The D/APM will be responsible for
- Development of procedural diagrams
- Accurate and production-ready 3D models & 2D shop drawings
- Initiating pre-production prototypes or scale model studies
- Assisting in planning project time lines
- Sourcing project materials
- Coordinating with internal team & clients to understand project needs and requirements
- Communicate fabrication status & delivery to all parties
KEY FUNCTIONAL & RELATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The D/APM will support overall studio team activities & report to Project Management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS, STANDARDS & REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Proficiency with MacOS X, Windows,Rhino, Autocad and/or Vectorworks is a must. Well-qualified applicants will also have proficiency with Grasshopper, Maya, RhinoCam or Mastercam as well as professional experience with digital fabrication technologies.
Advanced proficiency in speaking Spanish is also a plus.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE JOB:
Desktop computer, 3D printer system, 3 and Saxis CNC routers.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Industrial Design or Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years
