Yamaha 1986 Yz 490s:
This is what I've done in the last 6 months:
New: Clymer Manual. Dunlop Geomax MX 53’s with tubes. Plastic: front, rear, side panels, mud flap. Seat cover. Pro Taper Handlebars with 1” risers. Forks rebuilt (seals and oil} with new springs for 230 lbs. Rider. Front brake Master cylinder and caliper rebuilt, new brake line, disc and pads. Twin Air air filters (x2). Throttle, cable and ODI grips. Carb rebuilt, new reeds. Pro Circuit pipe and silencer. New wide footpegs. Race Tech rebuilt shock, re-chromed shaft with new spring for 230 lbs. Rider. Chain, sprockets and bolts, swing arm protector and chain guide. I stripped her down and repainted the frame, cleaned all the bearings and put her back together in the last six months. The motor runs strong; it is 1 over on the bore. I have a complete engine gasket set for it. I run Blendzall Green label at 24 to 1, I will throw in my 1-gal gas can. Current registration. Come ride it at Argyll if you dare a piece of history. Is it new? No. Is it a relic, yes. Is it fun to drop the hammer on? Hell yes.
