This patina steel crown molding came from a historic building in San Francisco that was being renovated in the 1960s/1970s. It was originally used for the cabinets they had throughout the building and was rescued by the contractor. I don't think this was a common feature in a lot of historic buildings and would certainly be very expensive to have made.
