I’m Rosina Roibal. I offer private viola and violin lessons for students ages 8 and up (children, teens, adults), from complete beginners to advanced players. Lessons are held in Berkeley, with the option for me to travel to nearby locations for an additional fee. Virtual lessons are an option too.
My teaching style is student-centered, tailored to your interests, goals, learning style, and pace. Whether you like classical music, bluegrass, pop, or want to learn to read sheet music, play by ear, or learn music theory… I’ll support you in building skills, confidence, and fun.
I have a Master’s in viola performance from the University of New Mexico, and a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Loyola University New Orleans. I started playing viola at the age of 8 and performed professionally for years in symphonies, quartets, and bands. I taught middle and high school orchestra for 7 years and taught private viola and violin for 10 years.
I am 46 years-old and am a mother of a toddler who I just started teaching violin.
