Even if same results are returned, math is being taught differently at elementary/middle-school level than years back.
Kids are being taught more strategies (good thing) in terms of adding / subtracting / dividing / multiplying, and 'analyzing' the data. But sometimes the kids (and the parents) have a hard time keeping up the pace from classroom.
I enjoy math and I believe kids enjoy it.
Taking on and overcoming challenging exercises in math creates self-confidence. The reverse is also true. Without the right foundation, kids can fall behind and feel overwhelmed. Why is that? Because many math concepts build upon each other.
