Hey yo — we’re a small sign shop in Berkeley. We do a mix of small-to-larger jobs: painting, shop fabrication, vinyl cutting + installs (walls/windows), and laser-cut stuff.
I’m looking for a helper who’s super trainable. You don’t need to be an expert (or even have experience). What I do need is someone who can get good with tools fast and who’s solid on a computer. You don’t have to know the programs already, but you need to be able to teach yourself new software pretty easily.
What you’ll do / learn (we’ll train you on all of it):
Vinyl cutting + application
Installing vinyl on walls/windows/etc.
Basic file handling (JPEGs, vectors, that kind of thing)
Ladders… a lot. Sometimes scissor lifts too. So you need to be good with heights.
You should be:
Reliable, fast learner, good attitude
Comfortable with super basic math (mostly add/subtract)
Easy with a tape measure
Able to use hand tools (drill, etc.)
Not afraid of heights
Able to get yourself to the shop area near Berkeley Bowl West / South Berkeley (we usually take my truck from there to job sites)
Bonus (not required):
Illustrator/Photoshop, or any shop/fab/install experience.
Schedule:
Not a 9–5. A lot of work lands midweek (Tue/Wed/Thu). Sometimes we do after-hours installs and sometimes weekends — those get paid at a premium. Hours depend on how work comes in and how you’re doing. I can’t promise the same hours every week, but if it’s a fit, there’s room for it to grow.
To apply:
Reply with your name + number + email + availability (availability is key) and answer:

Send it as a fraction or a decimal.
