Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Foreman specializing in Structural Concrete and/or Underground construction to lead and oversee field operations on complex projects. In this vital role, you will coordinate daily activities, supervise crews, ensure safety compliance, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. Your leadership will drive project success from start to finish, ensuring work is completed on time, within scope, and according to specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage large-scale construction efforts while fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
Our jobsites can be anywhere in the east bay, with some in the Oakley/Brentwood area, and occasionally Fremont or Pleasanton.
Our office is in Pleasanton.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise construction crews on structural concrete and/or underground projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schematics, and safety protocols.
Assist with jobsite scheduling and sequencing
Coordinate with Procurement Manager on advanced material orders
Oversee site safety programs in compliance with OSHA regulations; have regular toolbox talks and inspections to promote a safe working environment.
Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately to guide installation and ensure quality standards are met.
Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, daily reports, quality control logs, and inspection records using Bluebeam or similar tools.
Monitor project progress against schedules; adjust workflows as needed to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Control project budgets by tracking costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors; assist in procurement processes utilizing HeavyBid or other estimating software.
Supervise the use of testing equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical systems or other specialized tools required for quality assurance.
Ensure proper management of construction site activities including pipeline installation or underground infrastructure work; enforce safety protocols at all times.
Foster a team-oriented environment by mentoring crew members, conducting performance evaluations, and promoting continuous improvement.
Experience
Proven supervisory experience in construction supervising at least 4 laborers independently.
Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of construction management principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively. Understanding of grades, elevations, structural plans and details.
Ability to document work on a daily basis and assist with change orders.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety compliance.
Ability to operate heavy equipment a plus
Spanish speaking a plus
MUST KNOW EITHER STRUCTURAL CONCRETE OR EARTHWORK/UNDERGROUND. NO OTHER TRADES CONSIDERED.
Pay dependent on experience.
