E Howard Watch Co Railroad Pocket Watch with 21 jewels, and open face. Case number and markings indicate it is a Keystone case, J Boss Extra, which means this watch is the highest caliber produced by Howard in 1913, both in form (thicker coat of 14k gold fill) and function, and most importantly, that it was assembled together in the factory.
Caseback features engine-turning engraving pattern and unmarked cartouch with no initials engraved.
Some very minor small cracking in the porcelain face. Blue steeled hands, one service date marked in the case 9-14-64.
Attached to a chain with a small pen knife on the other end. The tools in the knife are rusty.
This is an excellent railroad certified pocket watch from 1913 that keeps better time than most of my other watches. Passed a 24 hour test.
