The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives. This role serves as a key partner to managers and employees by providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and best practices while ensuring alignment with company values and applicable employment laws. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing both strategic initiatives and hands-on HR operations in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
Recruitment & Onboarding
• Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer administration
• Partner with hiring managers to develop clear, competitive job descriptions and hiring strategies
• Coordinate and facilitate onboarding to ensure a positive and compliant new hire experience
Employee Relations & Performance Management
• Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance, workplace concerns, and company policies
• Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and corrective actions
• Address employee relations issues promptly and professionally, ensuring consistency and risk mitigation
HR Programs & Compliance
• Assist in developing, implementing, and communicating HR policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (including FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, USERRA, and California labor laws)
• Maintain and update employee records and HR systems in accordance with legal and company requirements
• Assist in developing and implementing employee engagement programs aligned with company values and business objectives
Training & Development
• Support training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills, engagement, and performance
• Assist in organizing and tracking required compliance and professional development training
• Plan and coordinate company events and team-building activities to support employee engagement and organizational culture
• Support and execute employee recognition programs and engagement initiatives that enhance morale and retention
• Partner with leadership to develop programs that promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace
HR Operations & Analytics
• Maintain accurate HR data and KPI’s. Generate reports on key metrics such as time-to-fill, turnover, and employee engagement
• Identify trends and provide insights to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Support HRIS management and process improvements
Benefits Administration & Total Rewards
• Own end-to-end administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate guidance
• Manage benefit enrolments, qualifying life events, and terminations in coordination with payroll, HRIS, and external vendors
• Lead annual open enrolment processes, including planning, communication, employee education, and system updates
• Partner with brokers and vendors to evaluate plan offerings, benchmark competitiveness, and recommend improvements
• Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125)
• Prepare and distribute required benefits notices and documentation in accordance with federal and California regulations
• Reconcile benefits invoices and partner with Finance/Payroll to ensure accurate deductions and reporting
• Analyze utilization trends and employee feedback to support cost management and enhance employee experience
• Support development and communication of total rewards strategies, including benefits, wellness, and leave programs
Front Desk & Office Support
• Provide professional front desk coverage, including answering and directing incoming calls
• Greet visitors, manage guest sign-in, and direct them to appropriate personnel
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
• Receive, date-stamp, and distribute incoming mail daily
• Assist with general administrative support for HR, Finance, and Office Services as needed
Non-Essential / Marginal Functions:
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or Certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist role
• Working knowledge of federal and California employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Employment Classification & Compensation:
This position is classified as non‑exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with California law. This role is subject to applicable wage and hour requirements, including meal and rest periods.
The pay range for this position is $26.00 – $36.00 per hour. Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and business needs.
