Venetian glassmaking tradition.
The bodies are made of deep ruby red glass that fades to clear crystal bases, infused with 24k gold flecks (avventurina) that shimmer in the light. This dual-tone effect is a signature Murano technique, giving the figures both vibrance and sophistication.
Each bird is perched on a clear sculpted glass base, designed to resemble natural rock or ice formations, providing stability and visual contrast to the vivid red tones.
Likely produced in the 1950s–1970s, a period when Murano glassmakers such as Barbini, Seguso, or Fratelli Toso were renowned for elegant animal sculptures.
Each bird appears to be approximately 12–15 inches long and 8–10 inches tall, making them substantial statement pieces.
