Homicide Survivors Support Group - North Oakland / Berkeley
(FOR ADULTS 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER)
New Group Forming: Please call to Register
Homicidal loss is like no other. Losing a loved one to homicide is especially difficult. Common reactions of helplessness, sadness, rage, anxiety and panic, normal to the grief process, can stretch on for years while investigations, court proceedings and appeals processes impact employment, social connections, intimate relationships and the survivors' ability to begin to grieve.
Sharing experiences and reactions with other survivors of homicidal loss can be helpful. Our Homicide Survivors' Support Group provides a safe, confidential place to grieve and begin to come to terms with the loss.
The size of each 10 week group is limited to 8 participants and pre-registration is required.
There is a sliding scale fee based on income -- no one is turned away for inability to pay.
Services are provided by mental health trainees and registered associates under the supervision and training of licensed clinicians.
