Hi neighbors,
I'm a UC Berkeley student who breeds and raises coturnix quail — a quiet, low-maintenance bird that produces fresh eggs daily. Unfortunately, my current housing no longer permits birds, and rather than give up the flock and color lines I've spent time developing, I'm hoping to find someone with a bit of outdoor space willing to host my setup.
The coop is compact and self-contained: 4 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and about 6 feet tall. It stays tidy and won't take up much room in a yard or against a fence.
In return for the space, I'm happy to offer:
* Free fresh quail eggs on a regular basis
* Occasional quail meat
* A small monthly "rent" (I'm a student, so nothing extravagant, but we can work something out)
Quail are much quieter than chickens, have no rooster noise, and are a genuinely fun little flock to have around — you'd be welcome to interact with them as much or as little as you'd like :).
If you have space, know someone who might, or just want more info, feel free to reach out. I'm responsible, respectful of others' property, and easy to work with.
