This rare oval coffee table designed by Paul Legeard in France is in very good condition for its age and is a fine example of mid-century modern design. The Paul Legeard coffee table was part of the new wave of furniture started in the early 1950's that moved away from the look and feel of the all wood designs of the past.
The table is structurally sound and iconically modern. Paul Legeard (1901 - 1991) was a French furniture designer. He launched his career in the 1930s at Baccarat, a landmark in French glassmaking. Legeard's innovative creations earned him prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale in 1954.
