Back is adjustable and can be reclined at four different recline levels with an unusual vintage mechanism - there is an old style sturdy metallic rod and grooved slots in the back. The rod can be moved manually, up or down into the grooved slots, depending on the recline required (see second last photo)

This rocker has been in the guest room, so only used occasionally. We don't need it anymore.
It fits inside a mid-size SUV (with back seat folded down)
Approximate measurements:
1. Widest part is at the front of the arms - about 29 inches
2. Height to seat from ground - 15 inches
3. Height to top of backrest - 36 inches
4. Front to back length for the rocking feet measured as a straight line (not curved) - 36 inches
5. The back part can be lowered flat for transport, making front to back length for transport at 56 inches. Maximum height for transport is 24-25 inches at the front of the arms
