Thank for viewing this awesome extension table, manufactured in the 1950s or so by Extensole of Sparta, Michigan. It is not only versatile and practical, it is a collectible! This expandable Mid Century Modern table is perfect for small living spaces such as an apartment, studio, condo, small house, etc. because it folds up into a console ~ entryway ~ side table (or desk or buffet) when the full table is not needed so you can free up space! At its smallest, it is 20" x 40". Flip the top and you have a 40" square table. Plus, it has four (4) 12" leaves. Pull out the legs, add one leaf, and you have a 40" x 52" table. Pull the legs out further, add the other leaf, and you have a 40" x 64" table; add a third leaf, it's 40" x 72"; add all four leaves and it is 40" x 84". Ingenious design! At its most compact, the finish is dulled from use; you could cover it with a runner or cloth. Unfolded, the finish is in terrific condition as is the finish on the seldom used leaves.
