If you make your own moccasins or Viking era leather shoes, this is the stuff for giving them durable, not-slip soles to wear to re-enactment events, the Renaissance Faire and out in the woods.
4 ounces is enough to do one pair of shoes (size 7-8) to about 1/4" thickness (best applied in 2-3 layers).
Mix with Barge Cement or similar adhesive and spread on.
This is 20 mesh, which is about the same size as the table sugar granules shown in the (magnified) photo.

This material can also be used to increase the volume of latex moulding material. Some have even used it to add non-skid areas to their jet skis.
