North Light, a full-service restaurant and cocktail bar in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood, is hiring a part-time server. 2-3 shifts are available to start, with consistent opportunities to pick up more via coverage or shifting schedules.
We serve seasonal Californian fare paired with an ambitious cocktail program in a friendly, warm setting.
This position starts at $17.34/hour and will earn tips in the FOH tip pool.
A meal and drink are provided with every shift worked and we have a generous discount policy for staff coming in on off-days.
The right candidate is consistently warm and friendly and can handle a section of up to 10 tables in a fast-paced, high touch manner. They are passionate about cocktails, food, and wine – but especially cocktails as they are the driving force of our business. They possess a desire to be a contributing member on a very strong team of hospitality professionals. Cross-training as a bartender is an option available, but not a requirement.
Minimum two years’ restaurant/bar experience is required.
North Light is located on Telegraph Avenue (a major bus route) and is a 10 minute walk from MacArthur BART stop. There is ample, non-metered parking in the surrounding area.
