Responsibilities
Prepare and serve meals that meet dietary guidelines and resident preferences, ensuring timely delivery and presentation.
Assist with food production, including chopping, portioning, cooking, and plating dishes in accordance with safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas by cleaning utensils, equipment, countertops, and dining spaces regularly.
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure sanitation and prevent contamination or foodborne illnesses.
Support meal service by bussing tables, assisting residents with eating if needed, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Adhere to all safety protocols related to food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen operations.
Collaborate with dietary team members to manage inventory, restock supplies, and document food temperatures or other safety checks.
Experience
Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred.
Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices is essential.
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy meal periods.
Customer service experience that highlights compassion and effective communication with residents or clients.
Previous roles as a dietary aide or in dietary department support are advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of dietetics principles or coursework related to nutrition is a plus.
