Hey Berkeley Bears & neighbors! 🐻 I’m looking to hire a talented student baker or culinary enthusiast to host a private 2–3 hour holiday "baking & confections" session for 3 people (2 women & 1 man in their 30s) tomorrow anytime, Tuesday, Dec 23rd. Let’s confirm details today!
The Catch: We can’t host, so we need to use your kitchen (Berkeley or near San Rafael/94903 preferred).
The Vibe: Christmas primary, with option for Jewish holiday traditions (non-practicing). Think Gingerbread + Stars of David.
The Menu we’re dreaming of:
• Fudge: (Nostalgic family favorite!)
• Cookie/Cupcake Decorating: Christian & Jewish
• Kitchenette Toaster Oven Hacks: Help us make dough we can freeze and bake later in a fancy toaster oven.
• Kitchenette "Kettle" Hot Cocoa: Making rich cocoa using just a water heater.
Compensation: $ 200 + cost of ingredients + $80 shopping fee (thank you for having everything ready!) + tip.
Perfect for a culinary student or a home-baker with a decent kitchen who is staying in town for break!
(P.S. If you aren't familiar with Jewish flavors, we’ve been told grab some Tahini, Honey, or Apricot Jam—those three items can make almost any recipe connect!)
(P.P.S. If you are a pro bakery or chocolatier shop with availability and interest we’d love to hear from you and support your business and the menu is flexible. Going more art-of-chocolate or more art-of-pastry is reasonable. Thank you!)
