This round of Fractionees (pronounced frak-she-own-eez) is for middle-school students (Grades 6–8) who are capable but unsure when working with fractions -- especially when denominators differ -- and who need stronger number sense and operational clarity.
Instead of relying on shortcuts, students learn what fractions mean, how denominators affect value, and how to reason through operations -- without embarrassment.
In this workshop, students work through carefully selected problems that improve reasoning about size, value, and relationships between fraction values. A short pre-check and post-check allows families to see measurable improvement during the session.
This isn't a cure all, but it's a start.
