Selling my one-of-a-kind McIntosh MC2500 17th unit ever made SN# CS1017 in Sept of 1980 and that it is a custom one off piece I have all the email correspondence between the gentleman I bought it from and McIntosh, it was made for obviously somebody with a lot of money, for them to copy that metal faceplate and make it in 1/2 thick glass is just amazing to me and to switch the bottom plate over from a red rocker switch to a knob style on and off, in my opinion this looks just like it should have come from the factory this way, would have been cool if they would have made them like this but this one was custom made for somebody who had a lot of money obviously. This unit was made the first week of September 1980 and shipped the second week and was never registered by the original owner. I feel like this piece is definitely a valuable piece since there's so much mystery surrounding it. Anyway I'm hoping that it goes to a home of a collector who wants a one of a kind piece of McIntosh history being such an early unit. Asking $8800 firm. Amp is located in the Bay area of Northern California. The reason behind my pricing just so people know, is it's the only one of its kind out there in the world, someone spent a lot of money doing this, these units were not cheap anyway. No one else will have one like it in the world.
