Revox has a well established reputation in the reel-to-reel world, similar to Nakamichi in the cassette world. They also made quite an impression with these tangential tracking turntables. There is quite a cult following for them! If you are looking at this post, you are probably already familiar with the reputation and performance. I've seen fully renovated units going for $1,695 recently, and "working" units in the $500 - $1000 range.
I bought this table never having owned a tangential tracker before...I thought it would be fun and interesting to play with it for a while, (like I really needed another turntable! although a friend once said to me..."you can never have enough turntables!"). This TT powers up, and LEDs light up...platter begins to turn, but then stops. I am guessing gear misalignment in the direct drive, but I am not a technician, and I have too much gear which I am slowly getting rid of, so I don't need a project. I'm hoping there is someone out there who has either been looking/lusting for a Revox, and/or is technical enough or can take it to a technician to get the drive cleared on this great TT.
It appears that someone began a cosmetic renovation...these Revox TT came with a black rubberized finish which seemed to be popular in it's era, unfortunately the finish oxidizes and becomes tacky/sticky, (I had a Nakamichi CD player, and a McIntosh remote control bboth with the same kind of finish, and the same kind of deterioration). The good news is someone already removed all of the old finish...it is ready to be repainted/refinished, or used as is.
The tone arm assembly is in very good condition, and there is a Grado cart attached. Besides the finish the body of the unit is in very good condition, and the cover is intact, working, and remarkably clean for it's age...the deck is very heavy which is always a good thing in turntables...see the pics.
I've provided two different specs lists, and I borrowed some descriptives from an Ebay post for a fully renovated B795--selling for $1695! see below:

"While these units are very robust and reliable they suffer from a finish deterioration which happens on almost all ReVox pieces from this age. They were finished in a neat rubberized paint which deteriorates over time. The B795 features a unique swing-out tangential tonearm which is easy to operate since you never actually have to manipulate the tonearm. Perfect for those with a track record of breaking needles or with shaky hands. Several push-buttons allow you to manipulate the tonearm up, down, left, and right so you can drop the stylus on the precise spot. It's also capable of 33 RPM and 45 RPM speed operation.ReVox is an amazing company with quite the history in professional and consumer audio equipment. Here is a chance to own a small piece of history."

(This last link has a lot of technical info from devoted Revox gear-head users, if you read it, read all the way through since there is differences of opinion and information amongst the devoted--I figure if you are serious about this TT this info is good to know--if you are just looking for a "record player" there is plenty of Japanese mass-consumer plastic out there, but you'd be better off sticking with CDs or streaming...just IMHO).
