The Akai GX-630DB is audiophile reel to reel features Akai's GX special glass heads. As per Akai advertisements at the time, you could run an Akai GX series deck 24/7 for 17.5 years before they wore out. That's 150,000 hours, as compared to a more typical 3000-4000 hour life span of steel reel to reel heads of the 70-80's.

Believe or not, if you can find a good condition reel tape - you can archive frequency response of 30Hz to 25kHz on this vintage tape machine that surpassed most of modern day audio CD that has frequency response only in the range of 20Hz to 20Khz.
The listing is for a tape deck machine. No remote, No Box or other accessories included.

All tape play and record from line in and microphone are tested. All belts, tire and tape transport mechanism are fully serviced and tested for proper operation. Sound outputs are strong and clear from both headphone and line-out. Play head and metal parts on the tape track are demagnetized and cleaned. The deck also tested for reel alignment, wow, flutter, tape tracking and reading.
