Engineering design for light gauge steel structures to support solar panels, carports, RV covers, self-storage buildings and miscellaneous canopies. Including load development, light gauge steel analysis and foundation design.
Engineer should display an investigative nature and must be accurate, have a knowledge of the product offer, good communication skills with a keen interest in ensuring the safety and structural integrity of the structures produced.
The Engineer is expected to be detail oriented, creative and possess good problem-solving skills. Excellent math, IT and analytical skills are key to success.
Prepare reports, designs and drawings.
Prepare calculations including load and stress analysis.
Create accurate drawings in a format suitable for construction.
Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
Liaise with professionals including architects, geotechnical engineers and building department staff.
Read and interpret architectural drawings and geotechnical reports.
Use computer aided design technology.
Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
Sound understanding of typical computer software, including Excel, Word, etc.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Meticulous attention to detail with good organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and IT skills.
Three-dimensional conceptual skills.
Sound understanding of statics and strength of materials.
Understanding of Building Code requirements
