Ujimaa Foundation is seeking an energetic and passionate Dance Instructor to lead engaging dance classes for elementary and middle school students in our after-school program.
The ideal candidate has experience teaching cultural and contemporary dance styles, including Folklórico, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Salsa, Zumba, African Dance, Contemporary, Ballet, or other dance forms. We are looking for someone who values cultural diversity, promotes physical wellness, and inspires students through movement and creativity.
Responsibilities:
Teach fun, engaging, and age-appropriate dance classes.
Introduce students to a variety of dance techniques and cultural traditions.
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Facilitate 40–50 minutes of daily academic support.
Maintain positive classroom management and follow program policies.
Qualifications:
Experience teaching dance to children in an instructional setting.
Strong knowledge of one or more dance styles, including Folklórico, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Salsa, Zumba, African Dance, Contemporary, or Ballet.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Passion for youth development, cultural awareness, and physical activity.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
