Behavior Interventionist (san leandro)

compensation: $17 - $22 per hour dependent upon education, experience, and site location.

IABA is looking for part time Behavior Interventionists to work in the Oakland, Berkeley and Richmond Areas!

Preferred availability M-F mornings/early afternoons for school cases and afternoons/evenings for home cases
*Must be available weekends
Hours of work will be based on child's intervention schedule.

Would you enjoy assisting children with developmental disabilities in developing the skills necessary to be integrated into school and other community settings? If so, join our team as a Behavior Interventionist!
The primary responsibility of the Behavior Interventionist is to provide one-to-one behavioral-based instruction to children in the Early & Intermediate Intervention Service. Responsibilities also include record keeping of each child's progress toward goals and objectives, as well as behavior challenges, and assisting in training less experienced staff.
Qualifications:

At least an AA degree or equivalent in psychology, education or related field, or training and/or education in implementing one-to-one discrete trial instruction to children challenged with autism, or one year of training and experience in providing discrete trial instruction in a one-to-one setting to children challenged with autism required.

Requirements:

Valid California Driver's License, DMV report and proof of automobile insurance.
Current CPR and First Aid training.
Acceptable fingerprint clearance through the California DOJ and FBI.
Tuberculosis clearance.
Staff must be able to physically lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds (e.g., groceries, housewares, and move furniture).
Must be able to physically assist, guide, and facilitate movement of clients that may need physical assistance (e.g., wheelchair transfer, walking, etc.)Training:
The Behavior Interventionist will be expected to participate in approximately 90 hours of required training. The training will be completed in the first six months of employment. Training requirements include: competency based training, on-the-job field training and other training provided by the professional staff of IABA and/or professionals outside the agency.

Hours of work will be based on child's intervention schedule.
